1. Baking Soda
Baking soda is a lifesaver when it comes to cleanliness since it effectively cuts through grime and removes odour.
You just need to make a paste by mixing baking soda and water together and scrub toys with it. Then wipe them clean with a clean cloth and rinse with plain water.
2. Give the Toys a Vinegar Wash
Another life-saver when it comes to cleanliness is vinegar. It will also allow you to clean your kid’s toys thoroughly.
You just have to add 2 cups of white vinegar to 2 gallons of warm water. Even mixing some lemon juice to this mixture is a good idea to make the job of removing grime easy.
Now clean toys by rubbing them with a brush or sponge dipped in this solution. Later rinse them clean with plain water.
3. Kiddie Pool
If you have an old kiddie pool, you can turn it in a large bath for outdoor toys. This is especially useful for big toys.
You just have to fill it with water and add a dish soap that can effectively clean grease and make lather. Then throw the toys in the soapy water and let them sit for soaking. If needed, scrub them too.
Later remove them and rinse thoroughly with plain water.
4. Get a Spray
Clean the nooks and crannies of the toys using a spray. You can either use a spray fitted on the top of a bottle or get a spray attachment for your hose and clean the toys with the powerful jets so as to remove the grime.
You can get multiple sprays in your nearby store out of which you can find the best one for you.
5. Clean in a Dishwasher
This may seem a little freaky but you can actually use your dishwasher to clean your kids’ outdoor toys that are small.
These small toys can be washed in the top rack of the appliance. Just don’t choose the heated dry option. Balls, play foods, building blocks etc. can be easily cleaned in a dishwasher.
6. Keep the Toys Covered when Not in Use
It’s needless to say that keeping the toys inside a cupboard or in plastic containers when not in use is a good idea to protect them from dirt and dust.
